Use your SyncVision otoscope
Connect the SyncVision video otoscope and examine the ear canal and eardrum on a call.
What this is: how to use the SyncVision video otoscope with ProEX.
Who it’s for: nurses and health workers doing ear examinations for a remote clinician.
Connect it
- Connect the USB-C cable to the otoscope handle and plug the other end into the station’s USB hub.
- Press the round camera button on the otoscope to select PC Cam.
- Wait for Windows to detect the camera.
- In ProEX, open Exam Mode, then Camera, and select the otoscope.
Examine and capture
- Fit a clean speculum in line with your infection control policy.
- Use the side dial to adjust how far the light throws. Set it shorter for the ear canal and longer for the eardrum.
- Capture images and video in ProEX Camera Mode, then save them to the patient. See Use clinical cameras in Exam Mode.
Tips
- Steady your hand against the patient’s head so the image doesn’t jump.
- Talk the clinician through what you are doing. Ask them to say “stop” when they see what they need, then capture.
- Use Freeze in ProEX to hold a frame while the clinician looks.
Troubleshooting
- The otoscope doesn’t appear in ProEX. Check it is in PC Cam mode. Unplug and reconnect, then reopen Camera Mode.
- The image is too dark or too bright. Adjust the side dial.
