Cleaning carts, tablets and batteries
AIO and laptop carts, ProEX Mobile, Power Cell and the transmitter kit
What this is: cleaning and care steps for Visionflex carts, the ProEX Mobile tablet, the Power Cell battery and the video transmitter and receiver kit.
Who it's for: staff who use or look after this equipment day to day.
This equipment doesn't touch patients directly, but the handle, keyboard, mouse and touchscreen are the most-touched surfaces in the kit. Wipe them after every patient. The manufacturer's instructions for use (IFU) are the final word on cleaning each device. Where this article and the IFU differ, follow the IFU. Your organisation's infection prevention policy applies on top of both.

Power-Cell Virtual Care Cart Battery Kit - 600W/268Wh
Clean the Power Cell with a dry cloth only. It's a lithium battery, and liquid can make it fail, leak or catch fire.
| Part | How to clean | How often |
|---|---|---|
| Housing and display | Dry soft cloth only. No wipes, sprays or liquid. | Monthly |
| Power port and connectors | Check for dust or debris and keep dry | Monthly |
Looking after the battery
- Plug the cart in whenever it's not in use. Charging starts automatically.
- Recharge before the battery drops to 20%. Below 20%, don't run anything drawing 400 W or more.
- For storage longer than a few weeks, power off, unplug and store at about 80% charge. Top it up to 80% every three to six months.
- Store between -10°C and 45°C in a ventilated space, with nothing stacked on top.
- Never open, modify or try to repair the battery. It voids the warranty and creates a fire and shock risk.
- If the display shows a temperature, short circuit or overload alert, stop using it and call Visionflex support. If it shows a red light and won't charge, call support for guided recovery.

Visionflex Video Transmitter/Receiver Kit
The transmitter and receiver carry video from the examination glasses to the computer. Neither touches the patient, so clean them between users.
| Part | How to clean | How often |
|---|---|---|
| Transmitter | Power off and disconnect. Clinell or lightly dampened 70% IPA cloth, keeping moisture out of ports. | Between users |
| Receiver | Remove from the USB port. Clinell or 70% IPA cloth, keeping the connector dry. | Between users |
| Buttons and controls | Wipe gently. Don't let liquid pool around buttons or seams. | Between users |
| Cables | Dry or lightly damp cloth. Reconnect only when fully dry. | Weekly |
The kit needs no calibration. Charge the transmitter by USB, and you can use it while it charges. Range is about 7 to 13 metres. If the link drops, check both units are on and paired, or plug the glasses straight into the computer with the USB-C cable.
