Pre-session audio checklist
Seven quick checks that prevent most audio problems.
What this is: the checks to run before every session, so the clinician can hear the patient, the patient can hear the clinician, and the stethoscope comes through clearly.
Who it’s for: anyone starting a session on a Visionflex virtual care station.
Print it: Download the Pre-session Audio Checklist (PDF) and keep it with the station.
The checklist
| # | Check | How |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Speakerphone connected | Unplug the speakerphone USB cable, then plug it back in firmly. |
| 2 | Speakerphone is the Windows default | Right-click the speaker icon near the clock and open Sound settings. Check the blue dot is next to the speakerphone under both Input and Output. |
| 3 | Stethoscope volume | In Sound settings, find the PCP-USB device and set its volume to about 80. |
| 4 | Not muted | Check the speakerphone and microphone aren’t muted and the volume is loud enough. |
| 5 | Vision devices | In Vision, click Settings. Set Input and Output to the speakerphone, click Test, then Save as default. |
| 6 | Headphones charged and on | Charge the Bluetooth headphones with the USB cable between sessions. Press the middle button for 2 seconds until a blue light flashes. |
| 7 | TrueSteth headphones | Turn the headphones on first. Open TrueSteth in Vision, select the headphones as Audio Out and press Play. |
